(Londonderry, NH) – New Hampshire based Pro Star Aviation announced today that they received Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) approval for FAA STC ST00347BO – Upgrade of BendixKing CAS 67A TCAS II Change 7.0 System to CAS 67B TCAS II Change 7.1. The STC is filed in the NAPA Issued Certificates Online (NICO) database as SA15-87 (issue 2), holder company; Pro Star Aviation, LLC.
The STC’s AML list covers various makes and models of business and corporate aircraft to include; Bombardier, Cessna and Learjet. The STC itself authorizes the exchange or upgrade of the two processor versions needed for compliance of MOPS Change 7.1 that was issued by the European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA) on December 16, 2011 in response to the growing number of mid-air encounters that took place between 2000 and 2010, which studies attributed to an unacceptable safety risk involving the use of collision avoidance logic version 7.0.
According to this MOPS change, any aircraft operating in European airspace after December 1, 2015 without collision avoidance logic version 7.1 of ACAS II installed, will not be authorized to enter European airspace.

With the looming deadline of December 1, 2015 (IAW MOPS Change 7.1), Pro Star’s EASA STC 10054589 couldn’t have come at a better time for European registered aircraft. Operators failing to meet the requirements of MOPS Change 7.1 will not be authorized to fly within European airspace with a BendixKing CAS 67A TCAS II 7.0 system.
According to Pro Star’s ODA Administrator, Douglas England,
“ACAS II (TCAS II Change 7.1) introduces an important safety enhancement by improving the current Change 7.0 reversal logic, correcting issues with missed and late TCAS reversals and potential failures to initiate reversal Resolution Advisories.”

(Londonderry, NH) – Pro Star Aviation is proud to announce it has received approval for the upgrade of a BendixKing (Honeywell) CAS 67A TCAS II Change 7.0 system to CAS 67B TCAS II Change 7.1 under AML STC ST00347BO.
The AML STC covers many popular U.S. business aircraft from the following manufacturers: Boeing, Bombardier, Cessna, Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream, Hawker Beech, Learjet, Lockheed and Saberliner. The STC complies with the pending mandate requiring all aircraft operating in European airspace with a TCAS II system installed be equipped with Change 7.1 in accordance with MOPS change 7.1 no later than December 1, 2015.
The 7.1 upgrade is applicable to existing TCAS II 7.0 TPU0067A’s with part numbers; 066-01146-1111 & 066-01146-1211. It is completely software based, meaning there is no change to the form and fit of the existing system. The change corrects two safety issues inherent within the current TCAS II 7.0 system with regards to the Adjust Vertical Speed RA and the RA monitoring compliance during coordinated encounters. Aircraft without the 7.1 upgrade will not be allowed to fly into European airspace after December 1, 2015.
Pro Star’s AML STC is available for purchase directly to any BendixKing (Honeywell) Authorized Dealer or operator. There are three (3) options for upgrading the TPU0067A TCAS II Processor; an upgrade and return, an exchange of a serviceable unit, and an exchange of an unserviceable unit.
